Message of the President, Republic of the Philippines

5th UCLM Grand Alumni Homecoming

Malacañan Palace, Manila

My warmest greetings to the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Alumni Association and the UCLM College of Hotel and Restaurant Management as you host your 5th Grand Alumni Homecoming.

This occasion refreshes the memory of days gone by and the vibrant hopes of youth. You all come home to the community where you fortified your strengths, solidified your virtue, and formed your character; old friends who accompanied you through this journey are with you once more to honor UCLM and the people behind this proud institution. May this gathering intensify your yearning to contribute to your alma mater’s continued growth, to widen its impact, and to lend it further credence in your undertakings. Let your renewal of bonds move you to fulfill your dreams for your school, your region, and our country.

Shared values sustain the strongest of collectives. Witnessing our Republic’s transformation allows us to appreciate its magnitude more clearly: Integrity, honesty, and accountability rallied our citizens towards the Daang Matuwid and served as our watchwords while we rolled out reforms across our archipelago. I enjoin every true nation-builder to further abide by these principles; let us pave the way forward and demonstrate our resolve, moved by the mission that ignited our resurgence: To bequeath to succeeding Filipinos the Philippines they deserve.

May your homecoming prove joyous and stirring.

6th UCLM Grand Alumni Homecoming

Malacañan Palace, Manila

My warmest greetings to the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Alumni Association as you hold your 6th Grand Alumni Homecoming.

This homecoming event serves as a moment to reconnect with classmates who encouraged and helped each other overcome the challenges during their student life. It is a time to reaffirm the lessons of their professors who helped them become intellectually prepared to rise above any challenges.

I wish that the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Alumni Association will continue its commitment to provide a venue for the alumni to reunite with those who gave them beautiful memories. May it also rekindle the warmth of old friendship and revitalize the ideals and aspirations that they nurtured during their stay in their alma mater.

I wish the alumni to continue their efforts in aiming for excellence in all their undertakings. May you uphold the core values of the institution that helped mold you to become who you are today.

May you have a joyous and meaningful gathering.
